Fewer public utterances, more closed door discussion – Davies advises the Gov’t
Thursday, 14 May 2009
Opposition Spokesman on Finance Dr. Omar Davies is advising the Golding administration to stop making public utterances on the wage dispute with Government-paid workers and instead focus on solving the problem.
Dr. Davies says the Government's habit of making public statements on the matter is doing more harm than good.
"We don't think we should have reached this stage but having done, so I think that there is a need for less public utterances and more behind the scene discussions in terms of the way forward.
"I understand the fiscal implications but the issue won't be resolved by the Government taking what is perceived to a high handed, intransigent position," Dr. Davies said.
